Hoarder & Heavy-Clutter Cleanouts
Respectful, discreet help clearing a home that's become overwhelming, at a pace the family sets.
When a home fills up to the point where rooms can't be used, it usually took years to get there, and it's rarely just about the stuff. Gone By Five helps families, homeowners, executors and landlords clear heavily cluttered homes across southern New Castle County, Kent County and nearby Cecil County, MD. We work quietly and without judgment, and we keep the details of your job to ourselves.
You set the plan and the pace. Some families want everything gone in one push; others want to go room by room, or need time to look for paperwork, photos and keepsakes first. We set aside anything that looks important, such as documents, cash, jewelry or photos, instead of tossing it, and we ask when we're not sure. If the person who lives there is involved, we follow their lead on what stays.
There are limits, and it's better to know them up front. We haul household contents: furniture, boxes, bags, clothes, papers, appliances and general clutter. We don't handle biohazards, medical waste, needles, human or animal waste, or anything that needs a specialized cleaning or remediation crew, and we can't take chemicals, paint or propane. If the home has those problems, a biohazard or restoration company needs to go in first. Once it's safe, we can haul out the rest.
Quoting works from photos. A family member, executor or property manager can send pictures of each room, and we'll send a written estimate to approve online, often as several trailer loads for a whole home. For bigger or harder-to-judge homes, we may ask for a quick walk-through first. Clearing a loved one's home after a death? See estate cleanouts.

Hoarder cleanouts: common questions
Do you clean up biohazards or medical waste?
No. We haul household contents and clutter. Biohazards, medical waste, needles, and human or animal waste need a specialized cleaning or remediation company first.
Will the neighbors know what's going on?
A truck and trailer in the driveway is hard to hide, but we work quietly, keep the details of your job to ourselves, and plan where to park and load from your photos.
Can we go room by room instead of all at once?
Yes. You set the pace. Many families do it in stages, and each visit gets its own written quote.
Will you throw away important papers or photos?
We set aside anything that looks important, like documents, photos, cash or jewelry, and ask when we're not sure.
